With this gift, 24 Foundation will have donated more than $3.5 million collectively to both facilities to support adult and pediatric cancer survivorship and wellness programs.

“We greatly appreciate our long-standing partnership with 24 Foundation and all that the organization has done to help build the Survivorship and Wellness Programs at Levine Cancer Institute and now Levine Children’s Hospital,” said Scott Kerr, president of Carolinas HealthCare Foundation. “24 Foundation’s generous philanthropic support will help us achieve our vision of implementing services at all points throughout a survivor’s cancer experience with a team of first quality and highly trained specialists.”

This commitment will assist in the enhancement of the Institute’s world-class oncology rehabilitation program that will be a major component of its recently announced expansion plans. 24 Foundation funding will also continue to sustain existing survivorship and integrative oncology programs such as healing arts, yoga and acupuncture.

In addition, a portion of the $1.5 million gift will establish a more comprehensive pediatric cancer survivorship program at Levine Children’s Hospital. Research shows that three out of five pediatric cancer survivors will experience consequences of their disease and/or treatment. Among other things, the expanded program will give pediatric cancer survivors and their families greater access to high quality and cost-effective behavioral health care to address long-term psychological issues related to the diagnosis and treatment of chronic illness.

“On behalf of our community of riders, supporters and sponsors, we are proud to have Levine Cancer Institute and Levine Children’s Hospital among our primary beneficiaries,” said Spencer Lueders, founder of 24 Foundation. “We are deeply committed to funding cancer survivorship and navigation programs. Seeing firsthand the results of our support over the years and the impact we are making right in the backyard of our event is empowering.”
