Every participant in a 24 Foundation event is remarkably determined, selfless, dedicated and passionate. Their commitment to fundraise, ride and stride is evidence of just that. But few embody that DNA the way team JE Dunn’s Camila Cox does.

Camila was one of the first members of team JE Dunn in 2017 and has been a champion for 24 Foundation’s mission within her organization. Because of her passion and motivation, Camila was nominated by JE Dunn’s team captain, Lauren Boone, ahead of Charlotte’s 24 Hours of Booty to receive a free bike tune up from our partner Bike Sport. Lauren described Camila as “the heart and soul of all things community involvement,” who displays “the kindest heart and most determination” that her teammates have ever witnessed.

Both Camila and JE Dunn are equally committed to 24 Foundation beneficiary, Carolina Breast Friends. The organizations were connected when a JE Dunn coworker and cancer survivor, learned of the renovations that were needed at Carolina Breast Friends’ signature Pink House. The house serves as a home base and sanctuary for men and women in all stages of their breast cancer treatment.

JE Dunn provided more than $100,000 in materials and labor to renovate the Pink House and have since forged lifelong bonds with the non-profit. When employees learned they could further support Carolina Breast Friends, as well as other local organizations providing the same survivorship and navigation services, through 24 Foundation, they jumped in with equal enthusiasm.

Since their inaugural 24 Hours of Booty in 2017, the JE Dunn team has doubled their participants and fully embraced the mission of making an immediate impact on the lives of those affected by cancer.

As Lauren says, “We each have different levels of cycling experience, however we all have a fiery passion for this mission! We couldn’t be more excited to see our community come together through the platform of fitness and cancer navigation and survivorship.”
