Cindi HartCindi Hart is a two-time cancer survivor with a passion for cycling. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2004, she did not let her treatment interfere with her passion for cycling.  Shortly after finishing her final chemotherapy treatment she won a national cycling race and was back on her bike just two days after undergoing surgery for a bilateral mastectomy.

She underwent further treatment when her cancer spread to her lymph nodes at the IU Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis, IN, one of 24 Foundation beneficiaries. In April 2014 Cindi celebrated living 10 years after being diagnosed with cancer by riding her bike from Baltimore, MD to Key West, FL.

“24 Foundation has not only given me the ability to ride, which I love, but to ride with my friends and have a slumber party on the bike surrounded by people who hate cancer as much as I do!” Cindi said.

This year will be Cindi’s third year riding in 24 Foundation Indianapolis. She looks forward to riding in the quiet stillness at night and stopping at midnight to light candles in memory of friends and family who she lost to cancer in the past year.

  1. Great article – Cindi is truly an inspiration against cancer, as well as being an inspiration to life and living in general! She’s also a personal hero of mine – helping address a horrible injury I had several years ago. Love seeing her annually at 24 Hours – her wonderful attitude is infectious!
